"Contemporary abstraction", Ulricehamn Museum (Sweden)
From 10/01/07 until 13/02/07

One of the most important exhibits of the decade, Contemporary Abstraction at the Ulricehamn Museum in Sweden, focuses on one of the striking themes of our time. These artworks created by 16 artists from both France and Sweden are on the forefront of a movement that breaks down the barriers inside of the human consciousness. We can now be open to see the world with new eyes and take in color and form as expressing challenging ideas. These artists have broken the mold in a range from cacophony to stillness. Contemporary Abstraction seeks how we shape ourselves. In a postmodern world of no reason how can we focus our integrity to realize the responsibilities that a society holds? This exhibit brings us closer to some of the answers that we seek today.

Maria Guillory Hedman, Director of Cultural Affairs / Head Curator
